Important Onboarding Info
- Mandatory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC): For the safety and trust of all participants and team members, a current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is mandatory for everyone working with Bullies Against Bullying. This check is a crucial step in safeguarding individuals who may be in a position of dependence or at greater risk.
- Process: We will guide you through the VSC process, which is conducted by your local RCMP detachment or municipal police service (e.g., Vancouver Police Department) here in British Columbia. We will provide an official letter from our organization, which is usually required for this check, and often makes it free or low-cost for volunteers.
- Timeline: VSCs can take several weeks to process, especially if fingerprints are required. We encourage you to start this process as soon as you submit this form. Your full involvement with participants will begin once your VSC is cleared.
- Orientation & Training: All new team members will participate in a mandatory orientation session and any specific training relevant to their roles. Details will be provided upon successful application.
- Code of Conduct: All team members are expected to adhere to the Bullies Against Bullying Code of Conduct, ensuring a respectful and empowering environment for everyone.
